As a visitor staying here i had a problem with ruby (my car) with no appt. The gentleman stopped what he was doing, took a look for me, told me what the issue was and how to fix it, thankfully nothing mechanical. He was very informative and most importantly as happens so often in the town i come from, not once did he speak to me like a was a stupid woman who had no idea. Have no problems recommending these guys to anyone travelling through or living here.
Disgusting service and dodgy work! The clutch went in my car so I called ctc mechanical to come to my house and diagnose the problem so I could get them to fix it. Steve from ctc came to look at it but couldnt tell me for sure what the problem was. I had it towed to their shop, and after a couple of days of me continuously ringing to see what the verdict was, the reply I finally got was Steve thinks it could be the master cyclinder, so hes replacing the master cylinder and see how that goes. Once work was completed I was told they had to adjust my clutch as far as possible because they felt there was to much slack. About a month later I was driving in Bundaberg when the rod behind my clutch pedal fell out while I was driving. I had a mechanic in Bundaberg have a quick look while I was stranded on the side of the road and he told me something was wrong with how the master cylinder had been put in. I called Steve at ctc mechanics, who did the work, and his reply was bring the faulty part in after Christmas, theres nothing I can do right now Really Steve?! How the hell did you expect me to remove a master cylinder from my car that YOU put in?? Anyway I had to organise a car trailer to get my car back to Kingaroy and I asked the driver to take it straight out to Steve at ctc mechanical and Steve turned them away saying there was nothing he could do and again bring the faulty part in after Christmas I have since had it confirmed again and again that the problem is definitely the way the master cylinder was put into my car and I have photo evidence. Im am absolutely appalled with the treatment I have received from ctc mechanical, and they could not care less. And like other comments I have seen here and other people Ive spoken to, its common for Steve to tell you to just get rid of your car when he cant diagnose the problem. I chose to use CTC MECHANICAL because I saw they were a family run business and I wanted to support a local family business thinking they would look after their customers. Big mistake! My kids have been without a working car since. Shame on you Ctc mechanical!
Had car issues, asked to have the problem diagnosed. Said it would take about 2weeks because they have a back order of work. No problem. Get a message that the car is done 2weeks later, pay 300 cash and drive away. 7mins after leaving there workshop the same issue happens, I call them up and the mechanic comes out. I e doesn't know what the problem is and blames Toyota for the quality of their engines, then suggests I use the Jerry in the car and burn it. The only reason I think he would suggest this is to hide the fact he's a poor mechanic. I wouldn't suggest you use these guys.
